Problem Note 37096: When setting SASĀ® restricted options, user and/or group information must be stored in /etc/passwd or /etc/group
SAS® restricted options work properly only if the user and/or group information is stored
in the /etc/passwd or /etc/group directory.
This is because the system calls that are made to
obtain the user and group information read only local files.
If the user and/or group information is stored somewhere other than locally (for example,
Active Directory or another type of LDAP server), SAS is unable to obtain the information
required. The SAS options that have been restricted by the administrator via restricted
options files are then ignored.
